• 3 cups of bread flour or all-purpose flour more may be needed
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1 teaspoons packet of instant yeast
  • 2 tablespoons of honey
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of melted butter
  • 2 teaspoons of salt
  • Topping:
  • 1 Tablespoon melted butter
  • Coarse salt optional

  1. Warm the milk in the microwave
  2. Pour the milk in the bowl of a mixer, sprinkle the yeast. Mix lightly and cover for 5 minutes for yeast to activate
  3. When the mixture starts to bubble add the flour, honey, sugar, melted butter, and salt
  4. Using the dough hook, mix on medium speed for 5-6 minutes or until dough becomes soft and elastic. You’ll know the dough is ready when it cleans the sides of the bowl
  5. Remove from the mixer and place on the counter. Cut into 12 equal pieces (I used a weight to be more exact and each of my rolls weighted approximately 2.29 oz)
  6. Roll each piece into a ball
  7. Line slow cooker with parchment paper
  8. Place balls inside and cover
  9. Cook on HIGH for approximately 90 minutes
  10. Check the bottom to see if the bread is completely cooked (bottom should be browned)
  11. Remove from the crock pot and brush the tops with melted butter
  12. Sprinkle the tops with coarse salt (optional)
  13. Broil for 1-2 minutes or until the tops brown
  14. Enjoy!
