When it comes to daughters, many fathers are really afraid when we are talking about things related with their little girls.
Unavoidably many of such situations come sooner or later, and that depends only on life itself.
All fathers hope that they do not have to face the same problems like this dad had when he picked up his daughter from school one day.
As usual, he asked his daughter how was her day at school. Due to the fact that she was still in grade school, he expected that she will give him stories of alphabetic learning and the human virtues and values like sharing and caring about other people.
At that moment, the little girl started speaking excitingly.
“Today, we learned that boys are different from girls!” said she proudly.
He looked at her and he was completely astonished.
“My teacher said that boys have a thing that girls don’t,” she continued.
The father replied slightly disturbed “Ah…yes, well that is true,”. He could not add something more to the conversation so he remained silent. But his daughter continued the conversation.
“See, that’s how girls know that boys ARE boys,” said the little girl. “They see this little thing that hangs down and know: that is a boy!”
This did not know how to react in this situation. In fact, he couldn’t wait to get home.
The girl asked innocently: “Did you know that boys swell up when they see a girl?”
After the father heard this he started sweating and panicking.
“I, ah, um…well…” he tried to change the topic but he couldn’t think of a word due to the situation he was in.
Then the daughter said:
“Daddy, why do girls like boys to have this thing?”
“Good lord,” the father thought. “What should I say? Hasn’t every woman asked that question at one point or another?”
“Oh…well, umm…you see sweetie…”
But she didn’t wait for the answer.
She explained: “It’s because it waggles when they walk, so the girl knows that this is a boy and that she likes him. Then, the boy sees the girl and he swells up, and then the girl knows that he ALSO likes her. Then they get married, and then they get cooked!”
“Well, uncomfortable,” thought Dad, “but not wrong.”
Despite the fact that the father was confused with the word “cooked” that his daughter used, he still didn’t panic. He thought that perhaps those are not bad things that his daughter should know.
After they arrived home, the little girl fished something out of her school backpack and said, “Daddy, I drew a picture of what we learned at school today, wanna see?”
The father still was confused and he was not sure of whether he is right or wrong in how he was reacting. He glanced at his daughter’s drawing but when he saw with his own eyes what she drew and he had to sit down.
There was a crayon in which the large male turkey was drawn in details.
His snood, or more precisely the red thing that male turkeys have which is found as attractive by female turkeys was drawn artistically, along with gorgeous feathers which made him stand proud and tall.
The father found her painting totally hilarious and started laughing and the girl found that very offensive.
Still, he let her know that her drawing is perfect. He could not forget about the turkey.
