Things you need

  • Cooking oil- 2 tbsp
  • Mustard seed- ¼ tsp
  • Green onions- ½ cup (chopped)
  • Green Chilies- 2
  • Curry leaves- 2-3
  • Coriander powder- 1 tsp
  • Turmeric- ½ tsp
  • Salt- 1 tsp (as per taste)
  • Water- ½ cup
  • Crushed coconut- 2 tbsp
  • Banana flower- 1 (nicely chopped)


  1. Take a pan and add 2 tbsp of cooking oil to it.
  2. Let the oil heat on a low flame and then add ¼ tsp of mustard seeds to it.
  3. Let the mustard seeds sputter properly and then add curry leaves to it.
  4. Later add fine chopped green onions and chilies to the pan and fry it properly.
  5. Add a nicely chopped banana flower to the pan and mix everything very well.
  6. Now, add coriander powder, turmeric and salt to the curry and spread it well.
  7. Pour ½ cup of water in the pan and cover it with a lid. Let the curry get cooked properly for 5-10 minutes.
  8. You can open the lid and check the curry in between, stir it well and allow it to cook properly.
  9. At the end open the lid, see if everything is cooked by now and then add crushed coconut to the curry.
  10. Stir it nicely and put some coriander to make it look awesome.
  11. Your banana flower curry is ready! You can have it with rice.
