Ingredients:
- 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs
- 1 cup low-sugar BBQ sauce
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp cracked black pepper
- 1/2 tsp sea salt
- 6 whole grain buns
- 1 cup shredded cabbage
- 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
Instructions:
- Lay out a gallon-sized freezer bag.
- Add the chicken thighs to the bag.
- Pour in the BBQ sauce, apple cider vinegar, and Worcestershire sauce.
- Sprinkle in the smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- Seal the bag, removing as much air as possible, and massage the bag to ensure every piece of chicken is coated.
- Freeze flat for up to 3 months.
- Place the frozen or thawed contents of the bag directly into the slow cooker.
- Set the slow cooker to Low for 6 hours and cook until the chicken is tender.
- Shred the chicken using two-pronged shredding forks.
- Serve the shredded chicken on whole grain buns topped with shredded cabbage tossed in apple cider vinegar.
