Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef (80/20 lean-to-fat ratio)
- 0.5 lb ground pork
- 0.5 cup Italian seasoned breadcrumbs
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 0.25 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped
- 1 tsp salt
- 0.5 tsp black pepper
- 24 oz marinara sauce
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 0.5 tsp red pepper flakes
- 2 tbsp olive oil
Instructions:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the beaten egg, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, minced garlic, parsley, salt, and pepper. Stir into a paste to ensure the binder is evenly distributed.
- Add the ground beef and ground pork to the paste, mixing with your hands until just combined. Do not overmix to avoid tough meatballs.
- Scoop approximately 1.5 tbsp of the mixture and roll gently between your palms to create 24 uniform spheres.
- Drizzle olive oil across the bottom of the slow cooker. Place the meatballs in the pot and cover with marinara sauce, dried oregano, and red pepper flakes.
- Cover and cook on High for 4 hours or Low for 8 hours until meatballs are cooked through.
