Ingredients:
- 2 lbs ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 packet beef gravy mix
- 1 packet French onion soup mix
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 medium yellow onion, sliced
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp water
Instructions:
- In a large bowl, gently combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix with your hands just until combined to avoid making the meatballs dense.
- Roll the beef mixture into 1.5-inch balls.
- Place the sliced yellow onions at the bottom of the slow cooker to create a natural rack.
- Arrange the meatballs in a single or slightly overlapping layer over the onions.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together beef broth, beef gravy mix, onion soup mix, and Worcestershire sauce until smooth.
- Pour the liquid mixture evenly over the meatballs until they are mostly submerged.
- Cover and cook on High for 4 hours or Low for 8 hours.
- Mix 2 tbsp cornstarch and 2 tbsp water into a slurry and stir it in during the last 30 minutes of cooking until the gravy is thick and glossy.
